Data License & Terms of Use

Effective October 13, 2026.

What this data is

Septic Insider publishes a register of licensed septic system inspectors and related professionals. Core license records (names, license numbers, license types, and status) are compiled from official state licensing rosters, which are public records. Septic Insider adds verification dates, county and city coverage mapping, cost information, and editorial summaries of each state’s inspection rules. That compilation, enrichment, and presentation is the work product of Septic Insider.

Permitted use

You may browse the register freely and use it to find, evaluate, and contact a licensed inspector. You may quote or cite individual records or figures from this site, including in articles and reports, provided you attribute Septic Insider and link to the page you are citing.

Restrictions

You may not scrape, bulk download, republish, or redistribute the register in whole or in substantial part, or use it to build a competing directory or dataset, without prior written permission from the publisher. Automated access beyond ordinary search engine crawling is not permitted.

Accuracy and disclaimer

Septic Insider is not affiliated with any state agency. License data is verified against the issuing authority’s roster as of the verification date shown on each state page, but licenses can lapse or change at any time. Always confirm a license directly with the issuing authority before hiring. The information on this site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and is not legal, engineering, or real estate advice.

Underlying public records

The underlying government licensing rosters remain public records of their issuing states. This license covers Septic Insider’s compiled and enriched register as published on this site; it does not restrict your right to obtain records directly from a state agency.
